Note the wide pine paneling and the built-in shelves and cabinets. ![]() The focal point of the large living room is the massive wood-burning fireplace with the raised hearthstone that gave the farm its name. The ten-foot slab of stone was dragged by mule teams from Cabin Run Creek. ![]() The living room receives plenty of daylight from four large windows of antique glass set in deep sills with gracefully curved plaster alcoves. ![]() The northwest corner of the living room is home to the Steinway baby grand piano. ![]() Dining room view from the kitchen looking toward the front of the house. A door in the northwest corner opens to a staircase that leads to the large duplex bedroom above. ![]() The wood-burning fireplace, part of the original colonial structure, is framed in antique Mercer decorative tiles. The chimney was rebuilt in 2008. ![]() The south wall of the den features a Dutch door leading to a small porch and the front yard beyond. ![]() The antique wooden Dutch door in the den was painstakingly refinished to its original natural wood surface, leaving a design of George Washington in the multi-colored layers of old paint. Note the unusual hinged glass transom above the door. ![]() The original 1793 deed to the property still hangs on the wall of the den, with a typewritten transcript below. ![]() The master bedroom, above the dining room faces the barn and courtyard and includes a fireplace and large closet. ![]() This spacious bathroom in the northwest corner of the house doubles as a dressing room with an adjoining closet to the master bedroom. ![]() This bright and airy bedroom, one of four in the stone farmhouse, overlooks the front yard and pasture beyond. ![]() Bedroom #3 features a wall of closets and window views to the terrace and pool. ![]() This upstairs bathroom includes a walk-in shower and a louvered linen closet. ![]() The fourth bedroom, with entrances from the guest bedroom and via a staircase from the den below features two closets and four windows facing south and east. ![]() This loft in the fourth bedroom is suited to a variety of purposes. ![]() The old wrought-iron bell in the belfry on the old smokehouse is still in use. ![]() The east side of the smokehouse has been converted into a heated artist's studio. The natural light from the six windows is augmented by track lighting in the ceiling. ![]() The west side of the artist's studio shows the five-foot walk-in fireplace that was used during the building's smokehouse days. There is a workshop on the other side of the white wall and a large garage beyond the workshop. ![]() The well-lit and air-conditioned artist’s studio is an ideal sanctuary for creative pastimes. ![]() Covered bridge across Cabin Run Creek which traverses Lot #2.
